Mission
Mount Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, consisting of its believers united in faith by the Holy Spirit, has the God-given mission of preaching the Gospel:
To nurture our fellowship for lives of Christian service,
To reach out with the Word of God to win lost souls for Christ,
To cooperate with other WELS congregations in bringing Christ to the World,
All to the glory of God alone.
Recent Church History
When the calendar turned to the year 2000, Mount Calvary embarked on a new century of opportunity. As it has in its past, the congregation responded to opportunity with enthusiasm and moved forward on faith.
In September 2002, Mount Calvary celebrated the completion of the new gymnasium and classrooms with a community open house and special thanksgiving service. With new and improved facilities, Mount Calvary has been able to host sporting events and teachers' conferences. A preschool program was added as well as before and after school care programs.
Beyond Christian education for children, the facility has enabled new activities for adults, too, such as increased space for Bible studies, recreational volleyball and basketball, morning walking in the gym and a community garage sale.
Community outreach expanded during this time, as well. Mount Calvary currently participates with other Waukesha WELS churches to support ministry in the Waukesha jail system, Tomorrow's Choice Family Resource Center and a new exploratory mission in southern Waukesha (Living Word).
All these activities are fruits of faith, produced by a congregation that remains...
